Scientists at the University of Delaware has confirmed, H. akashiwo marine algae can be used to manufacture motor vehicle fuel bioethanol. The algae can survive and grow in the flue gas NO full environment, the natural environment, but can also be formed over toxic algal blooms.
Associate Professor, University of Delaware Kathryn Coyne and her research team found that algae in the flue gas environment than in air to produce more carbohydrates. She said that H. akashiwo can survive in an environment of flue gas nitric oxide, and the growth rate can be doubled, cell size will be more than an ordinary environment normal. In fact, the algal cells in the gas mixture of carbon dioxide and nitric oxide can grow rapidly.
